DIY CALCIUM DRIPPER

seriously, this shit is so simple + easy + brilliant! i'm all over it. the clams are sucking up calcium like nobody's beez kneez! instead of kalk i'm going to use purple up. hopefully, this will encourage clam + sps growth. i'll keep you posted. :)

Hey Mercedes, Maxx from RF here....I would suggest not using purple up in place of kalk. Its more expensive, and doesnt have the right stuff in it. If you're concerned about long term cost, check out www.bulkreefsupply.com .

Good, inexpensive stuff there. One thing to keep in mind with kalk is that it will build up on the inside of pumps etc...so cleaning them with vineager at least once a year is necessary, with 2x a year being better. Mineral deposits will build up inside your pumps and cause them to eventually burn out without cleaning.
