they're purple + yellow so their name (combined) is dawg pound. heh!

UPDATE 2009-11-22: both pipefish died recently. found the fat one w/ it's head missing this morning. i'm guessing the lobster made a snack out of him/her. the other i banished to the frag tank last week since it wasn't eating. the frag tank is crawling w/ copepods, but i don't think it made any difference. :(

UPDATE 2009-11-22: the pink one is covered w/ algae. we're afraid we're going to lose it. sux! we're going to start the VSV method. hopefully, it'll make a killer come back.

DIY FISH TRAP

i want a blue spot jawfish dammit, but our starry blenny is a mean son-of-a-bitch + it's even more insulting when he's one step ahead of each move i make. i have tried to catch him w/ a net a billion times w/ no luck. :( the space between the glass + the opening is just big enough for him to squeeze through, but small enough to ensure i don't end up trapping any of our wrasses. i'm hoping i can take him by surprise by sliding the magnet over quickly when he's pigging out on shrimp. the wooden back scratcher is there to stabilze the bottle.

i'm hoping this diy fish trap works! wish me luck!

omfg i caught the little fucker! wooooOOoOooOOo! i'm calling andy first thing tomorrow to see if he has a jawfish for me. :)
